Chapter 3
Kristen's POV
It's been 3 weeks since alpha Mitchell has died. Tonight is the full moon, and alpha Mitchell son Oliver will be taking over as the new alpha. Everyone is getting ready for his alpha ceremony. Luna Lily won't let me call her aunt anymore, and I'm not to mention alpha Mitchell as uncle anymore. My family and siblings can, though.
I get nothing but disgusted and looks of hate from everyone but my family. One person did pick a fight and lost cause of my wolf, and now I'm not allowed to shift anymore. I get talked down to and tripped a few times, but nothing is really bad as of yet. I hope it stays that way.
I've been trying to stay away from Luna Lily and Oliver, but it's not all that easy. I usually only come out of my room for food and train, but I train by myself now. The only reason I haven't been banished is cause my father being beta, knowing all the pack secrets and being a loyal member of the pack. I've tried to tell everyone the real story, but of course, they don't believe me.
I know Oliver is planning something cause of the looks he gives me every time I walk by him. It gives me the creeps. I start walking up the stairs to my room when the she-wolf, Casey, who started the fight with me, smirks and then trips me. I fall down 2 flights of stairs. I can tell I broke a rib and my wrist. Luna Lily comes out of her office.
"What was that?!" she asked in a bit of a panic.
"Kristen was running up the stairs, and she tripped and fell down them." Casey responded in a smug tone.
Luna looks at me with hate in her eyes "Well get up and clean yourself off before you bleed on my carpet. If I see one blood stain, you will pay for all new carpet."
I struggle to get up with a broken wrist and broken rib, but it's hard to get up.
"Oh my, it isn't hard. Get up NOW!" She roared in her Luna tone. Luckily, I was almost all the way up when she demanded.
I start up the stairs again and this time make it past both of them. I get to the 3rd floor, and my wolf speaks up. "Don't worry, I'll heal you when we get to your room."
"No, you can't remember what they said. If you heal me or really do anything to help me?! I'll be free for all my family won't be able to protect me anymore and I'll get beaten every day by everyone." I shudder at the thought.
"What about just enough to get past the worst part of the pain? it will still take a few days to heal." Bailey asked
I sighed "Ok fine as long as nobody notices, I should be fine."
"Nobody will," she promises
I get to my room and lock the door behind me. I look at the time and it's only 2:00 pm so I set the alarm on my phone for 1 hour before the alpha ceremony it starts at 9:00 pm. I'm going to try and rest a little bit before the ceremony since my wolf can't help me. I close my eyes, and it takes no time to fall asleep.
I wake up to a beeping sound and I look at my phone and it's 8:00 pm the Alpha ceremony will start in an hour. I start to get up, and I feel a pain inside my chest, and remember I have a broken rib and wrist, most cuts and bruises were healed or gone. I slowly start getting ready for the ceremony. I turn on the shower and wash off the dry blood, and it helps my sore body. I hop out and dry off and blow dry my hair. I put on my light blue and green dress that flows to the ground, it has a low back, and is v neck in the front. It is beaded with diamonds on the front. I then apply some light makeup and throw my hair up in a nice bun. I look at myself in the mirror. I look really good. I grab my tiny bag and make sure my phone and keys are in there.
I walk out of my room and lock it behind me, and start my way outside.
It's just the pack doing the ceremony this time. Usually, multiple alphas from different packs come to meet the new alpha, but under the circumstances, it's a little different. I stand alone and look for my family, and I find them talking with Luna Lily. I see my brother and sister look over, smile, and wave me over. Luna Lily looks over as if I was going to be someone else, sees me, and her smiles falters. She holds up her hand and shakes her finger side to side, saying no, don't come here. I sigh and just stay where I am.
I try not to let it all get to me cause I could have been banished and considered a rouge. Finally, the moon is in the highest peak, and Oliver and Luna get on the stage.
