Chapter 2During his dull day as a clerk in one of the many departments answerable to the Secretary at War, Martin was occupied by the rolls of paper making their way to his lowly desk, trying to suppress a yawn. He had spent the early hours of that morning tossing and turning in his bed, the memory of his earlier experience vividly haunting his dreams.
