Coming from the bathroom, Karma hung up the phone and put it on the charger. She'd just called Akoni and set up the details for the party her, Ash and Kat were invited to.
Unknowingly to her, Kacy was sitting on the edge of the bed. He watched as she exited the bathroom and charger her phone up. A few hours before, he found a paper with a number written on it in Karmas pants pocket.
He couldn't wrap his mind around what was going on or why she had it, but instead of assuming, he chose to ask. "What's this?" Kacy asked, the paper between his fingers.
He couldn't even look up at her. He'd heard her giggling and whispering in the bathroom and that whole no assuming thing was about to fly out with window along with his sanity.
Karma grabbed the paper and looked at it. She already knew what it was and on the inside, she was freaking out but she kept her cool on the outside. She learned that from Kacy.
"A number" was all she said.
"Who was you talking to in the bathroom?" He asked.
"A friend"
"Karma, don't fuckin play with me" Kacy spoke calmly. "Who number that is and who the f**k was you talkin to?"
Karma kept quite "So you'n want ta answer? Cool" Kacy grabbed his phone and snatched the number from Karma. He started to dial the number until Karma snatched his phone "Karma, gimmie my s**t"
"Don't call him"
Kacy's eyes nearly bucked out his skull "Him!?"
"Kac-"
"Yo, I'm dead ass bout ta kill ya ass. You better get ta explainin before I lose it"
Karmas mind was racing. She learned from Kacy that no matter what, they'd be honest to each other. They'd never lie and always keep it 100, no matter what else was going on.
But she also knew that if Kacy found out what her and the girls were doing, they'd never be able to continue and not only that, once a mission is accepted by Jose, it has to be finished or there would be repercussions. Nobody in the crew knew what those might be and nobody wanted to find out.
It broke her heart because she knew what Kacy was thinking. He thought she was cheating when she wasn't, at all. But because she was in the middle of business, there wasn't anything she could do.
She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair and when she looked up at Kacy, she could see his emotions were about to take over.
"Ya cheatin on me Karma?" Kacy asked, sadness filling his voice. He gently grabbed her chin, making her look at him. "Huh?"
"I'm sorry Kacy"
He moved his hand and in that moment, moved it down to her hands. He entwined their fingers, still looking Karma in her eyes. He then quickly snatched off her wedding ring and gave her a look of disappointment and disgust as he walked out the room.
Karma, she didn't even follow him. What would she say? It wasn't true but she couldn't tell him the truth, not yet anyway. The room door opened and in walked Kat and Ash. They heard everything from the next room and soon as Kacy left, they walked in.
"Karma, you ok?" Kat asked "What happen?"
"He thinks I'm cheating and I didn't deny it" she said softly.
"Well go tell him, f**k this mission. That's your husband" Ash said, then realization settled in "Oh no, I'm sorry"
Karma shook her head "Let's just get this over with. I don't want this to go on any longer than it has to"
"Ok, did Akoni say when the party is?"
"Friday night" Karma mumbled "He said we tell the guy at the front we're with him"
"Ok, ok" Kat nodded "Are we going to kill him then? Or wait a little longer?"
"I'm sure he won't let his walls down that soon so it'll have to play out a little longer" Ash said "Karma, is that ok?"
She nodded slowly "Whatever"
Kacy, Morgan and Dion walked the streets in search of somebody to deliver their message. Kacy wasn't really talking much, too much was on his mind.
His girl, his wife, his best friend was cheating. He didn't even know how to handle what he was told earlier. With both hands in his pockets, he held Karmas ring tight in his left hand.
"Aye, right there" Dion nodded in the direction of a man who seemed to be asleep against a*****e wall. With an empty bottle in hand, he was obvious a drunk.
The guys approached him and Morgan gently kicked the man in his side. He jumped up and looked up at the three intimidating men who stood over him.
"You know who Wendell is?" Morgan asked the man. He nodded quickly with fear plastered onto his face. "Give him a message for us and we'll buy your next bottle"
Dion pulled the picture of Moesha from his pocket and handed it to the man. On the backside of the paper was a number to a trac phone. Dion then passed the man $40.
"Be sure to give that to Wendell. If not, we coming back for you"
The man nodded and stood up, moving quick down the street. "Now its only a matter of time" Kacy mumbled as they began to make their way back to the house.
"You good nigga?" Dion asked.
"I'm straight"
