Chapter 4 : Lakewood Academy

Avery's POV

We arrived at the school at around 06:00 PM and got dropped off at the front gate. Walking further in, Our jaws dropped instantly as we marveled at the building infront of us. It was absolutely amazing. There's a stone pathway that leads to a circular driveway infront of a massive building.

But that's not what caught my attention. In the middle of the paved stone circle is a 10 foot statue of a Werewolf, a Witch , a Vampire and a Fairy all standing side by side. Yes, supernaturals don't only consist of the first three that I mentioned.

 There was also something engraved below the statue , I think it's Latin. 

' Hoc Unitum Stare Alta, Cadunt Unitum Sumus ' hmm I wo-

" United We Stand Tall..." we hear from behind us, " United We Shall Fall." the voice completes as we turn around. Well I guess that answers my question.

 Standing infront of us is a beautiful woman who looks to be in her late 40's /early 50's.

She has a light complexion but isn't pale, her dark hazel brown hair is in a neat bun and she has light green eyes. She's wearing a pretty beige pencil skirt suit and I'm guessing that she holds some sort of authoritative ranking here because of the way she carries herself out.

.....also it feels like she has some kind of aura around her but its faint.

I snap out of my thoughts as she walks closer towards Luke and I. Speaking of Luke....I glance over at him to see him smiling excitedly. To be honest I'm feeling a little nervous. 

The woman began speaking once she had our full attention. 

" Goodmorning children, my name is Mrs Edyth Arden, the Head Mistress of the school." she said warmly extending her hand.

" um, I'm Avery" I smiled back and shook her hand.

" And my names Lukas" said Luke as he did the same.

" Well it's very nice to meet the both of you". " likewise" said Luke and I nodded agreeing. She chuckled and gestured for us to follow her.

As we walked up the staircase I took in the details of the school as I was more focused on the statue before. It appears that the school was built with different types, textures and colors of wood. The roof and the floor is made of dark red rosewood and the walls, of spruce and teakwood. 

" Everything looks so shiny....and expensive" whispered Luke leaning towards me. " Not to mention all these cool vintage antique thingys " I whispered back in awe of the interior.

I guess whispering was of no use because the head mistress still heard us.

" Yes well all of these are ancient artifacts that have a history of their own, but don't worry you'll learn of them in time" she said and we both looked at eachother excitedly. Believe it or not, Luke and I are real geeks when it comes to stuff like that.

We followed Mrs. Arden into the secretary's office where we had to fill in some paper work. After a while of filling in our information we were told to take a seat because Mrs. Arden was sorting something out in her office. 

Two minutes later she walked out with a girl beside her. She looks likes she's our age.

" Avery, Lukas, "  calls Mrs. Arden as she's approaching. " This is Kara, Kara, Avery and Lukas." she introduced us"." She is in the same year as the both of you and she will be showing you around the school and to your dorm rooms." she stated and left.

" Hi!" she said abit cheery. " Welcome to the Lakewood academy boarding school!"

Kara has an olive complexion with big doey light brown eyes and black hair with purple streaks in it. She's about the same height as me and has a very nice figure.I don't think the school has a specific dress code cause she wore ripped black jeans with an off shoulder baby blue top. Although she's abit cheery I feel like she's a genuine person but she doesn't let others walk all over her. 

" C'mon lets go, I'll show you around" she said already skipping off.

Luke and I looked at eachother.

" Lets do this Ave" said Luke with a smirk.

Dane's POV

I woke up at 05:00 AM this morning wanting to leave before Mindy wakes up. I slipped on the same clothes from last night and left closing her room door softly. The only other people awake now are the pack staff getting everything organized for the day which means no one would see me coming out her room.

I head up to the fourth floor which is originally for the beta and gamma and their families. The fifth and highest being for the Alpha and his family, the third and second for the pack members and first was the general place where everyone could go.

I walked towards the end of the hall on the right side, to Liam and Carters rooms. I opened Liam's door first only to find them both sprawled across the floor. 

I walked across them and immediately pulled open the curtains letting the sun hit them in the face. They both groaned in protest but It did the trick so I don't care.

I laughed at the way they made their faces. " Rough night boys?" I ask knowing very well that they had a bad hangover.

"  Shut up!!!" said Liam throwing a pillow at me.

" What the hell happened to you guys?" I asked. I looked over at Carter who was grinning like a cat and raised my eyebrows.

" Welllll...."  he drawled out, " while you were getting down and dirty with windy Mindy, Liam and I decided to go for a few drinks while we weren't on school grounds."

" But I think we had a little more than a 'few' ." said Liam clutching his head.

I chuckled shaking my head, idiots.

" Okay, whatever, just get ready, we're heading back in an hour!" I said

Where did I find these to nuts.

Avery's POV 

I blinked my eyes open and looked at the clock to see that its six in the morning, classes only start at eight so I've got some time .I think I have enough time to take a bath instead of a shower, maybe it'll help with the nerves, I've been really anxious from last night for some reason and my wolf Ivory has also been stirring in my mind like somethings bothering her. Maybe we're just jittery coz' we're excited.

 The tour of the school only ended at 09h30 last night but I'm not complaining cause I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm pretty sure Luke did aswell. Kara's pretty cool too, she made us laugh alot. 

There's alot of cool sport's and activities to do , especially in our spare time. There's a library with each supernatural community's history and laws. I think I might spend most of my time there. 

Once we covered what we needed to know Kara gave us our class timetables and took us to our dorm rooms. Turn's out that we're actually roomates.

Our dorms are extremely gorgeous, the ceilings and floors being rosewood and the walls birch with white and gold curtains covering the windows in the side of the room. The bedding also matches the curtains.

I only realized that I had been lost in my train of thought, ( yet again) when a chill run's through me. The waters gone cold and I have wrinkles on my fingers.

I get out and walk into the room. I dry off before applying some of my favourite lavender scented lotion. I decided on wearing a navy blue long sleeve dress that has a sweetheart neckline and reaches my mid thigh. I feel its an appropriate length. I let my hair loose and it fell to my waist in its natural wavy curls.

I'm not in the mood for anything too fancy so I put on some flat black pumps and as usual, mascara and clear lipgloss.

I give myself a once over.....ehh, good enough for me. I shrugg and grab my stuff. I took a deep breath,

First day.... here I come.
