It was the second dawn since she had been abducted and ivy woke up to noises with pains all over her body. Misty stirred almost immediately.
“They are almost here.” She said with a tone that could only come with confirmed confidence.
“How are you so sure?” Ivy asked with a sigh. She didn't want to lose hope but she couldn't even feel Zeke and she was told by Petra that the mate bond is weak so Zeke wouldn't be able to reach her through it.
“I felt Leer and he's coming.” Misty purred.
“Finally, I hope so.” Ivy muttered and straightened up against the wall with a wince.
The door kicked open and the soldier from before walked in with a bucket.
“Zeke's mate.” The man muttered as he stepped closer. His fingers trailed her chin before grabbing her face not so gently. “It's a pity that boy, Zeke has you all to himself but since he's lost you, I would love to see how good you are, coupled with the fact that he hadn't touched you.” He snickered and squatted to her level.
“Go. To. Hell. You. Monster.” Ivy stated and spat on his face.
“b***h,” he groaned and poured the bucket of water on her face. It turned out to be salted water and when it came to contact with the injuries on her face, Ivy winced in pain.
A punch landed on her face and misty groaned from inside her, surging forward with a force ivy found foreign. “Misty,” she called and the next moment, an animalistic howl escaped her lips.
“Wow,” the soldier chuckled and landed another punch on her face. Ivy tasted the iron taste of blood and spat it out.
“Zeke would find you and he would…” She was saying when she was interrupted by his laughter.
“You think Zeke knows where this is?” He asked. “And even if he does, with the men here, he would only end up killing himself.” He added. “Stop holding him up in high esteem.”
“Oh, boy. How wrong you are.” Misty said from inside.
“I had only wanted to entertain you and mess with you a bit but now, I'm aching to see how you taste underneath your feisty nature.” He stood up and walked to the door, locking it shut.
Ivy gasped as the space suddenly shrunk in size, she placed her back against the cold wall and shifted her hands in the rope but it barely had enough space to move.
“No, no.” Misty began panicking. “Leer hasn't touched me yet and his stupid, foolish wolf won't be the first.” She stated.
For the first time since ivy was kidn*pped, she felt helpless and tears peaked at her eyes but she blinked them back. Her mind was racing with every step he took, bringing them closer.
“Stay right there.” She sobbed.
“Oh, the feisty Luna broke.” He smiled and squatted back to her level, his fingers placed on his chin. “Let's taste the lips first.” His fingers slowly walked up to her hair and fisted in them, pulling her face closer. Ivy closed her eyes, tears falling down her face.
"No." Misty muttered from inside her chest. "No."
The white light burst from Ivy's palms without warning — blinding, sharp and total, the way lightning filled a room before you heard the thunder. The soldier reeled backward with a shout, his grip releasing. Ivy's hands moved forward on instinct and she placed them flat against his chest before pushing. The force that left her body was nothing she had ever felt in training, nothing Zeke had drawn out of her in all those rain-soaked nights on the field. It was bigger than her. It came from somewhere underneath her.
A c***k sounded as he hit the opposite wall and she opened her eyes slowly, blinking the afterburn of the light away.
"How did you do that?" She breathed.
"That's not even the real issue here right now." Misty shuddered slightly, her voice unsteady in a way that told Ivy the effort had cost them both something.
"The fuck." The soldier cursed as he slowly pushed himself upright from the floor, one hand braced against the wall. His expression had changed. The casual confidence was gone and what replaced it was uglier and more dangerous. "You bitch." He grunted as he started walking towards her again, faster now, the leisurely pace stripped away. "You would pay for this."
Ivy's hands fell over her sides, heavy and unresponsive. Whatever Misty had done, it had taken the last of what she had. Her arms felt like they were filled with sand and her vision was beginning to blur at the edges, the way it did when she had pushed herself past the point of sense during training and Zeke had told her flatly to stop before she collapsed.
He reached her and retrieved something from his waist and hit her face with it. Her face whipped to the side from the impact and she could feel Misty flinch with her, both of them reeling from it together.
“Don't do this.” She Said weakly.
His fingers found her shirt and he tore it into rags, revealing the black singlet she always wore.
Ivy's hands fell over her sides, weak. She had used her last strength in doing whatever misty had done. But yet, she couldn't allow this happen even when there was no possible escape.
"ZEKE!"
The scream tore out of her throat and shook the walls, shook the foundations, shook the air in the cell in a way that didn't feel entirely human. The soldier stumbled back a half step from the sheer force of it, his expression flickering with something that looked, briefly, like uncertainty
“f**k off, girl with that delusion. He's not going to save you. He can't possibly….” He was saying but ivy wasn't hearing anything.
The mate bond. It activated itself and she could feel it. The hair on her neck stood up in response. She could finally feel it and it felt like being able to breath after being under water to days. She didn't register the soldier's hands already moving under her singlet. At least he hadn't torn it off, reaching her breasts.
Because….
“He's here.” Misty shrieked.
The door didn't open.
It fell. Came entirely off its frame and hit the ground with a sound like the end of something, taking the wall fixtures and the lock and the soldier's confidence down with it.
Ivy could feel the dark, dangerous aura oozing from across her.
He's here. Her lips curled up into a smile subconsciously.
