“Stoneheart” She caught up with him.
The soldiers had moved to a field behind his chambers and he was there, resuming his teaching.
“I'm not joking, I want to be taught” She insisted.
“You?” He scoffed “You don't need to be taught, I would always be there for you” He almost added this statement but held his tongue back.
“Yes, what do you mean? Are you underrating me?” She raised an eyebrow.
“You're not fit enough for me to teach” He said.
“Teach my mate” His wolf growled.
“Keep shut” He rebuked.
“That's why I want to learn. Are you born dumb or you learnt it?” She facepalmed.
“Ivy” He grunted.
“Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry” She rolled her eyes.
“Why don't you fight off Tommy here?” Zeke suggested.
“Oh that's easy, he's lean” She chuckled before getting in stance.
“f**k!” She shrieked five minutes later as she was thrown to the floor for the seventh time.
“I'm sorry” He hurried to help her up.
“I can do that on my own” She pulled herself up, dusting sand off her body.
“You want to kill me or something Stoneheart?”
“You wanted to learn” He replied.
“Okay! Okay!” She fell into stance again.
“Stoneheart can you see that?” She asked as a punch landed on her.
“Focus” Zeke spat. She smiled, wiping the blood off her mouth and throwing a punch to the beta who dodged.
Another landed on her stomach and she fell to the floor. “Stoneheart, come help me out” Zeke looked around and sighed before hurrying over to pull her up.
By the fifteenth time, Ivy no longer complained, she just picked herself off the floor and fell into stance. Her grip grew better and she tried mimicking Zeke's skills which always ended up in her falling to the ground pathetically.
One of her pinched landed on his abdomen and she kicked him to the floor. “See that Stoneheart, I'm improving” She boasted.
“Yeah, You're getting better” The compliment slipped off Zeke's mouth.
“What? You mean it?” She jumped up and down as Zeke face a subtle nod. “You heard that? Stoneheart complimented me” She chuckled before falling into stance.
“Take a break Ivy” Zeke finally said and she collapsed into his arms.
“I'm so tired, I can't walk”
“Then stay here till you can”
“Bastard!” She cursed and Zeke chuckled. “Mate please would you help me out?” She said in am overly sweet voice.
“Come on” Zeke bent low and she climbed into his back “This would be the only time” He added.
“What if I get injured every damn time”
“You would stop the training” He replied immediately.
“You would train me?” She shrieked, plastering a big grin on her face.
“Where are we going?” Ivy asked when she got no reply. She would just take his silence for a yes.
“My office” He replied and her grin only grew wider, almost splitting her face into two halves.
“Down” Zeke instructed as he placed her on the couch and walking over to his desk.
He retrieved the first aid box and returned to her “It would hurt, you've got to bear”
“I went though you're rejection with a smile, so I can do this”
“Ouch” She let out a whine when the spirit came in contact with her skin.
“Sorry” Zeke mumbled and pressed on her skin lighter.
“Alright, that's about it so done” He raised his head and met Ivy hooded eyes which were already staring at him.
Her eyes flickered to his lips and back to his eyes again, he did the same thing and the hair thickened with tension, just a different type of tension.
The space between them reduced dramatically and Ivy took in her lower lips, biting down on it lightly. When she released it, it was wet and red.
“Okay, so that's all” Zeke abruptly stood up, almost knocking over the box. Ivy gulped down nothing and nodded furiously.
“I've got some paper works, I would be fast or I can call Tessa to come take you home”
“I will wait” He nodded and walked over to his desk, stealing glances for a moment before he became fully invested in his work.
Moments later, he raised his head and still saw Ivy in the same position he had left her. Staring at him.
“Why are you staring like that? It's creepy” He mused.
“Well you're my mate and you're handsome. Luna benefits you know, only I get the benefit of staring” She said and she could see a blush creep into Zeke's face.
“You're blushing?” She teased.
“I'm not” He groaned, looking away.
“Now you are”
“Shut up Ivy”
The days rolled by and the training became pretty intense. Zeke had to train his soldiers by day so he could only make out time to train Ivy at night.
“Your legs are too apart” He would say and Ivy would immediately adjust.
She was getting the grasp of it real quick but his accidental touches and stolen glances could shut down her brain and make her forget all she was supposed to do.
“You would get killed at this rate”
“It only works for you though” She muttered.
“Ivy, are you ready to learn?” Ivy asked.
The night stood still as they trained. Sweat dropped down Zeke's face and into his black singlet making him even more handsome.
“How am I supposed to concentrate if he keeps being this hot?”
“What did you say?” His hot breath was against her neck, fanning her ear by now.
“Nothing… Sir” She stuttered.
“Better or you prefer being in the comfort of your room, I prefer that too” He said and moved away making her moan in frustration by the absence of his warmth.
Hurried footsteps echoed across the vast field. Everyone was supposed to be asleep and even when awake did not usually ventured to the field as they knew about the training.
The figure stepped out of the shadows. Lucas.
“There's problem, Zeke” He called, looking nervous - the first time Ivy had seem him that way.
“What's that?” Zeke walked towards him, his voice low and grave.
“You might want to see it” Lucas said, turning on his heels to lead the way.
Ivy followed. “Go back” Zeke ordered.
“But…”
“Back or you end the training”
“Fine” She threw her hands up in surrender before walking back to her house.
