"I can't believe he did that," I mutter, staring at the screen, unable to tear my eyes away from the news broadcast.
The camera zooms in on Nathan's smug face as he declares war on Gabriel Knight’s empire. The words slip out of his mouth like poison, each one calculated to leave a mark. "The Knight Corporation will fall. Gabriel Knight's reign ends here." His words echo through the room, and for a moment, I feel like the air has been sucked out of the space.
I feel Gabriel's presence behind me before I see him. His footsteps are purposeful, confident, but there's an undercurrent of something darker that I can sense even before he speaks.
