Jessie finally stood up and headed back to the house. She couldn't stay there forever, even though it was the only place she felt she could be fully alone. As she walked back down the path she could feel him once again tugging at the deepest, darkest places inside her mind. She knew she had to figure out what her aunt was talking in riddles about. She would have to search through her aunts room to check for hidden information, or anything that might be able to help her discover what exactly she was dealing with. She would get to that after she sat down with him and had a talk. She had to get some time without him in her space. Walking up the front steps she knew he would be on the other side of the door, maybe sitting in a chair waiting for her. He did not let her down. As she opened the door he was sitting across from it, in a chair he seemed suited for, the only thing she had brought with her. It was an over stuffed comfy recliner that she had picked up while she was away, somehow it just fit here. Hello Darkness. Hello Jessie. Did you find the answers you were looking for there, in that dead space? No, there is nothing there but the dead, and you know that. I simply needed to clear my head, and that is why I didn't invite you to go with. He chuckled. Nice touch, you already know I cannot go there. I cannot exist there amongst them. She smiled, Yes, I know. I don't know why or whatever, but I do know. Good. We are begining to understand one another. I do not think I would say the same. I honestly believe I still have a lot to figure out, and I know you aren't going to help me there. What makes you think I don't want to help you darling? Stop calling me darling. It is not my name, and you do not fit my image of someone I want calling me darling. Oh but you did, once long ago my darling. You shouted my name so many times, in pleasure. What is this, all the inuendos, the underlying tensions, what did I f**k you and leave at some point? He sprang from the chair, crossing the gap between them instantly. Do not assume you have touched me in such a casual way, you burned yourself into me, and I burned myself into you. We shared in everything for so long, and now you cheapen our memory with simple words of mere physcial nature. You cannot take what we have had and throw it in the pile with all of your other casual affairs. We are more than that. Jessie glimpsed his darker side for only a moment, but she knew this was no ordinary outburst, she had hurt him. If we are so much more, then why do you not share it with me instead of just eluding to things that I cannot remember? Your memories will return once you begin looking inward. He was still a little off, she could feel it. How do I start if there is nobody who will help me along this road? She had looked down, at her feet, hoping the web she was spinning would snare him. His voice softened, You are and have always been my only weakness, you and you alone. I wish I could remember. keeping her head down she softly sniffed giving the impression she was close to tears. She felt him closer, the soft tingle of his hand against her chin as he lifted it to gaze in her eyes. I can only do so much darling, you have to do this, you do know where to start, you simply need to do it. As she looked into those sapphire eyes she felt the tear slide quietly down her cheek. His eyes burned her deeply inside her soul. As he softly slid his thumb across her cheek the tear gently disappeared. She felt him more than she had ever felt anyone in her entire life. He had an unusual affect on her, making her crazy and yet bringing her some weird peace at the same time. She knew he was right, that she could do this, and find what she needed to figure out what in the hell was going on. She just wasn't certain how to do it. I just don't know where to begin, I am lost right now. Her voice was barely a whisper. You will find your way, and I will be here when you do. He said softly gaxing into her eyes. I have to sleep, I am wearing thin here. Is there a way I can shut everything off and rest for a little while? You have to make that choice, no me. He began fading. I will return when you awaken. As his form faded she felt relieved and yet a pang of guilt raced through her as he slipped away. She knew he would return, but for the moment this is what she needed. Any questions that remained she could deal with in due time. She decided on a bath and a drink before bed. A good stiff shot of Jack would help her ease any chaos that cropped up. Pouring the amber liquid in her glass she headed for the bath and the rest she so deaperately needed.
