Chapter 11 – Bad NewsThe first day back at the hostel, Petro phones Ansie to tell her about what happened. ‘Hallo Ansie, Petro here. How are you doing?’
‘Hi Petro. It is good to hear from you. I am fine and you?
‘I am ok, but I have some bad news.’
‘If you talk about what happened in church and the reaction to that, my father already told me. Did you have something to do with it?’
‘Yes, I have a tape of Dominie Botha admitting that he is gay and I forced him to come clean.’
‘Listen, I know you meant well and I appreciate that, but please don’t get involved again. Rumours tend to develop a life of their own and like a many headed snake, they are difficult to kill. Every time you stir, the rumours just wake up again and my parents just suffer again. The rumours don’t bother me anymore,
