Chapter 4 – A Serious DisagreementOne afternoon Anke walks past the main bedroom when she hears someone crying inside. She knocks on the door and opens it slightly so that she can see inside. Elna is sitting on her bed with a letter in her hand and tears are rolling down her face. ‘Are you ok Mrs. Le Roux?’
Elna looks up at her and wipes the tears from her face. ‘Yes, I am just concerned about my son. I received a letter from him and I am missing him so much.’
‘Is he ok? Are there bad news in the letter?’
‘He says he is doing well and there is no bad news in the letter. He is not allowed to say much about what they are doing, but I know that he is in Angola and that they have been involved in operations against the terrorists. I constantly fear that he may get hurt or killed.’
