Chapter 8: The Draconian Counterstrike The following days were tense. The Star Force Knights were repairing their Titans and strategizing, but the looming threat of Xyraak's retaliation weighed heavily on them. Liam, stationed at the command center, was working around the clock to analyze the Draconians’ next moves. --- A Sudden Disturbance During a quiet afternoon, an alarm blared through the command center. Liam’s hands flew over the console as he scanned the holographic map. “Guys, you’d better get in here!” he called out. The Knights rushed in, finding Liam pointing at the map. “Massive energy spike,” Liam explained, his tone urgent. “It’s not like the previous ones. This is bigger. Whatever Xyraak is planning, he’s making his move now.” Tommy stepped forward. “Where is it?” “It’s... everywhere,” Liam said, shaking his head. “I’m picking up multiple readings across the globe. It’s like he’s opened dozens of portals at once.” Kimberly frowned. “He’s trying to overwhelm us.” “Then we need to split up again,” Tommy said firmly. --- Splitting the Forces The Knights divided into three teams once more: Team 1: Tommy, Sophia, and Liam would head to a major portal in Africa’s Sahara Desert. Team 2: Ethan, Mira, and Connor would tackle a portal near the Pacific Ocean. Team 3: Kimberly would remain at the command center to monitor and provide support. “We’re running out of time,” Tommy said, looking at each of them. “This isn’t just about stopping portals. We’re fighting for survival now.” --- Team 1: Sahara Desert The desert was blisteringly hot, the sand reflecting the sun’s harsh rays. As the team approached the portal’s location, they saw a massive Draconian war machine—an enormous creature fused with alien technology. “This is new,” Liam muttered. Sophia activated her ring. “Zodiac Scorpio, energize!” Tommy and Liam followed suit. “Zodiac Taurus, energize!” “Zodiac Aquarius, energize!” The war machine unleashed a barrage of plasma missiles, forcing the team to scatter. Tommy charged forward, his hammer glowing with energy as he struck the machine’s legs, trying to destabilize it. Sophia moved with precision, her daggers finding weak points in the machine’s armor, while Liam created water shields to deflect the incoming attacks. “This thing’s not going down easy!” Liam shouted. “Call the Titans!” Tommy ordered. “Zodiac Titans, arise!” The bull, scorpion, and water-bearer Titans emerged, their sheer size towering over the desert dunes. Together, they overwhelmed the war machine, but not without significant damage to their Titans. --- Team 2: Pacific Ocean Ethan, Mira, and Connor stood on the deck of a large battleship, staring at the swirling portal above the water. Emerging from the portal was a serpentine sea monster with glowing eyes and rows of jagged teeth. “Morph now!” Ethan shouted. “Zodiac Leo, energize!” “Zodiac Virgo, energize!” “Zodiac Aries, energize!” The monster lashed out with its tail, splitting the battleship in two. The Knights leapt into action, their weapons glowing as they fought to keep the creature at bay. “It’s too strong!” Mira yelled, dodging a massive wave created by the beast’s thrashing. “We need the Titans!” Connor called. The lion, maiden, and ram Titans emerged from the water, engaging the sea monster in a battle that sent shockwaves across the ocean. The Knights combined their efforts, eventually sealing the portal and defeating the creature. --- Team 3: Command Center Kimberly monitored both battles from the safety of the command center, but a sudden energy spike caught her attention. “What the—?” she whispered, staring at the screen. Before she could react, the room shook violently. The Draconians had found the command center. Kimberly activated her ring. “Zodiac Capricorn, energize!” She fought off the Draconian soldiers who stormed the facility, using her mace to smash through their ranks. Despite being outnumbered, Kimberly held her ground, refusing to let them gain control of the command center. --- A Desperate Defense Back in the field, Tommy’s and Ethan’s teams were regrouping after their battles. “Liam, report,” Tommy said over the comms. Silence. “Liam?” Tommy tried again, but there was no response. Ethan frowned. “Something’s wrong.” Sophia’s voice broke through. “The command center! It’s under attack!” Tommy clenched his fists. “We’re going back. Now.” --- The Final Stand The Knights raced back to the command center, only to find it in ruins. Kimberly was standing in the center of the rubble, bruised but still standing tall. “They came for us,” she said, her voice steady despite the chaos. “They know who we are now.” Liam scanned the horizon. “The energy spike isn’t over. It’s gathering again.” From the wreckage, a massive Draconian warship appeared, its cannons charging with deadly energy. Tommy stepped forward, determination burning in his eyes. “This ends now. All of us, together.” The Knights called their Titans, the machines rising from the ground like ancient protectors. “Zodiac Titans, combine!” The Ultra Titan formed, its immense power lighting up the battlefield. The warship fired, but the Ultra Titan absorbed the blast, retaliating with a devastating energy strike that tore through the Draconian ship. --- Aftermath The battle was over, but the Knights knew the war was far from won. “They’re escalating,” Tommy said as the team surveyed the ruins of the command center. “We need to rebuild and prepare for whatever comes next.” “We’ll be ready,” Ethan said, his voice resolute. The Knights stood together, their bond stronger than ever. To Be Continued...
