Chapter 3 - MY MATE, I THINK

 JACE

Once we were outside the club, Angel Secret, there was a big queue for the front door. Dan went straight to the door where two bouncers were waiting. One bouncer walked up to us, and Dan told him our names. Liam had our names on the list, and we were even in a VIP area, which meant we could go in without queuing. The bouncer opened the barrier and led us through the club door and in through the club.

The club was quiet, but it was early, but it was all dark in the corridor, but as soon as we went through the inner door, the whole room looked out of this world. Everything was shiny with silver, purple, and blue. The stage ran in the middle of the dance floor, but tables surrounded it.

We went to a booth with seats around it with a table in the middle of the section. No one could enter the room without us giving them permission or letting them, but I don’t think that would be a problem.

We all sat while waiting for the drinks to come, also for Liam and the girls. After the bouncer showed us to the booth and left, a waiter came over to ask what drinks we wanted. All three of us ordered beers for now.

Suddenly, I could see Liam approaching the booth with not one girl but three; I couldn’t help but sniff the air. They were human. 

I couldn’t help but groan out, but my eyes met with blue ones. 

Fuck, she was stunning. I couldn’t help but stare at her. She even had my wolf, Rolf, stir in my head. He comes closer to the surface, but he doesn’t let it know; he looks at the girl in front of us. Something tells me we might be having some fun night after all.

“This is Jace,” Liam says, which pulls me from my thoughts and makes me look at him; I shake my head, trying to clear my head.

The woman with the blue eyes looks at me and holds her hand out to me, “Nice to meet you, I’m Thalia,” she says.

I take her hand, but I get a shock as I touch her. I look at her, but her eyes go wide, but she looks at me, “Um, I’m going to order a drink,” she says and walks to the bar.

I watch as she leaves.

Dan talked to her friend, who I didn’t catch her name. He smiles at me. I guess he has pulled.

What the hell was that? 

Damn, Thalia is hot; I can’t help but stare at her. She has long legs that go on for miles. The black dress she is wearing is just barely covering her ass. 

Fuck.

“You know, she is single,” says a voice by the side of me. I looked down to see the blonde-haired girl holding Liam’s hand. 

I look between the both of them, he smiles, “Jace, this is Rosa, my mate,” he says, but smirks.

I looked back at Rosa, who had a grin on her face, “Thalia, she is single. I think she likes you,” she says, looking towards her friend. I don't think she heard Liam call her mate, or does she know?

I was about to say something when someone stood close to me. I saw Thalia by my side.

I smiled at her, “What are you drinking?” I asked her as I noticed the blue liquid in her glass.

She looks at the glass and looks back at me, “It’s a cocktail; why do you want one?” She asks with a questioning look.

I shook my head, “No, I was wondering. I think I will try one later, but I don’t know what they call them. What’s that one called?”

“A Blowjob,” she says.

I couldn’t help but snort slightly, “You serious?” I asked with a smirk.

 She nods, “Yeah, they all called weird names, mind,” she says.

Thalia looks at Rosa, “Where is Freya?” She asks.

Rosa points in the direction that makes both Thalia and I look. Both Dan and the woman, who I found out was called Freya, were all over each other. Aaron was sitting next to Dan with his head in his hand.

“I think you need to rescue your friend,” Thalia says as she leaves my side and walks over to where Aaron was sitting.

I watch as she sits next to him and starts to talk to him. 

“You know,” says Liam as I watch as Rosa takes a seat next to Thalia, “She is one hot girl; you should try and get with her, Alpha,” he says as he walks past me.

I ignore him. I walk over and sit opposite Thalia; she is in a complete conversation with Aaron about something, but I look to the other side; both Freya and Dan are still at it. 

“Hey, about you take your tongue out of her mouth and get to know her,” I said to him through a mind link.

Dan moved back, panting.

He presses his lips together, and he looks over at me with a smirk. “I can’t help it. She is a hot woman. I can feel a connection with her,” he says, and turns to look at Aaron. When his eyes land on Thalia, he looks at me. “I thought you wanted....” he says, but I growl through the mind link. “I will talk to her, but you need to calm down,” I tell him.

I turned to look and noticed that Thalia was looking at me; she smiled. “You look like you were somewhere else,” she said.

I smile. “No, I was thinking about what I have to do at work tomorrow,” I say, but I am suddenly embarrassed; why would I say that?

I can hear laughing in the mind link I opened. I quickly shut it down and glared at Dan.

Rolf had been staring at Thalia, he hadn’t said anything, but he seemed content. Rolf is usually going on about how much I should wait for my mate and not be with other women, but he hasn’t said a word since we noticed Thalia.

That’s strange.

I looked back at Thalia; she was staring at me. 

“Let’s dance,” came a voice from the side of Dan. I looked over at the woman. She looks stunning like Thalia, but Thalia is all I stare at.

“Come on then, beautiful,” Dan says as Freya grabs his hand.

Rosa and Liam join them, but Aaron looks at his phone, “I have to take this,” he says, and he looks at me. “She is hot; talk to her. I'm leaving now to be with Rita. I'm not anyone’s fifth wheel,” he says through a mind link and shuts it down.

“I have to go, family emergency,” he says to Thalia. She nods and holds her hand out for him to shake, which he does.

Once Aaron leaves, I get up and sit next to Thalia. My leg touches hers as I sit, and a shiver runs through me. That’s odd.

Thalia looks at me but smiles. “You smell good,” she says, leaning into me.

I smiled. “Thanks. What is it you do?” I asked.

She looks at me before she opens her mouth. “I like to write. I haven’t found a job as yet,” she says, but she looks away.

“I run my own company; maybe you could work for me. I'm always looking for someone to help me out,” I say without thinking. 

I need to keep my mouth shut.

Thalia looks back at me, “I might take you up on the offer one day,” she says as she looks at me.

She bites her bottom lip, but she looks at me. “Do you want to dance with me?” She asks as she gets up.

I nod as she holds out her hand to me; I place mine in hers. It sends an electric shock through me. It can’t be, but how?

“Rolf,” I asked my wolf as I walked hand in hand with Thalia, “Rolf, is she our mate?” I asked him.

Rolf looks at me with his black eyes, “I can’t tell, I think so, but it is hard to tell; it is like something is stopping me from knowing,” he says.

That’s strange; she's human, isn’t she? 

We get to the dance floor, and Thalia comes to the front of me as a slow song starts to play. I pulled her to me as I placed my hand on her lower back and held on to the hand that she put in mine when we walked to the dance floor. I hold her close to me; she looks up at me as we start to sway together. I can’t help but look at her features. She is a gorgeous woman, her blue eyes are bright, and her brown hair is long but curly. I lean towards her, I can’t help but breathe in her scent, but Rolf comes through. 

“MATE,” he says in my head.

I closed my eyes, “Rolf, she's human. We need to do this right,” I said to him.

Rolf looks at me and nods.

I open my eyes and move back, but before I do, I can't help but inhale her scent once more. Her scent is of wildflowers. I love wildflowers.

I move back and look back at her; she stares back at me. 

I don’t want to let her go. I know I have to wait and let her get to know me, but I'm having a hard time. I want a kiss. I want her with me forever. 

Thalia looked at my lips and back towards my eyes. She runs her tongue over her lower lip, “You know, I...” she says, but I cut her off as I place my mouth on hers.

Thalia kisses me back, her mouth opens slightly, and I slip my tongue in. I move around her mouth and taste every inch. I placed both my hands on her waist, pulling her closer to me. Thalia wraps her arms around my neck.

After a few moments, Thalia moved back, panting hard. 

She licks her lips at me and looks up at me, “That was nice,” she says with a raspy voice.

I nodded, “I think we should spend the night together,” I said to her without thinking. She looks back at me with wide eyes, but she looks over to the side and sighs. “It looks like I might have to,” she says. I looked over my shoulder and realized that Dan and Freya were all over each other once again, but I looked towards the bar, but Rosa and Liam were leaving by the side entrance.

Judging by everyone, we all came here for one thing or something. But I know I want Thalia; I don't need anyone else.

I looked back at Thalia, “We can leave together; it seems I’m on my own too,” I said.

She looks at me and smiles, “Well, I can’t leave you if you are on your own now, can I?” She says and moves closer to me, “Do you think we could leave and stay at my friend’s house?” She asks.

I looked at her and frowned. “I don’t think I want to be hearing Liam and....” I said, but she cut me off with a laugh, “Liam and Rosa are going back to Liams. Dan will be with Freya at Rosa’s house, and we have a motel room. Freya and I share, but we did mention if we were to bring anyone back, then I would have the motel all to myself. Is that okay?” She asks.

I looked at her and smiled, “That’s okay with me, as long as I'm with you. I don’t care about anything else,” I said to her.

She smiles, “Come on then; we can talk on the way there,” she says as she grabs my hand, leading me away from the dance floor and to the front door of the club.

I’m spending the night with my mate.

I can feel Rolf getting excited in my head.
