The tower was drafty, cold, and bare, save for a small squared window at the far end of the room. "I'm pleased to see that the Lord has finally come to his senses," the taller of the two guards said with a smirk. "Sure. Senses," I retorted, rolling my eyes. "I am pretty sure that your senses died the moment your heart stopped - assuming any of you had senses to start with."
