“What do you mean under a spell?” I retorted. “I am under no such thing!”
“You are! Why else would you be staying with this… creature.” He said the last word with undisguised disdain.
“This creature happens to be the Lord Luther Torren - the ruler of the vampires. And if you carry on, they’ll be treating you as a snack. Which begs the question, what the hell are you doing here?!”
“Saving you!” he repeated, thrusting his chin defiantly. “You clearly need it. I haven’t seen you in weeks!”
