Chapter 14: Final Fight

418 Words
Kane Tower. 2:13 AM. The lobby was a warzone. Damian stood in the center with 20 wolves. All of them were snarling, eyes glowing gold. "Where is she?" Damian roared. "Give me the rejected Luna!" Victor stepped out of the elevator. Alone. In a black suit. No fear. "She's not yours to take," Victor said. His voice was ice. "She never was." Damian laughed. "You bought her. Like trash. You don't deserve her." "And you sold her," Victor said. "So stay out of this." That was the last word before chaos. Wolves shifted. Glass broke. The fight started. Victor moved first. Black wolf, massive, tearing through Damian's pack like they were nothing. I watched from the 50th floor behind one-way glass. My hands were shaking. "Stay here," Victor told me before he left. "Don't come down." But my wolf was awake now. And Damian had hurt me once. Never again. I stripped. I shifted. Silver wolf. Faster than I remembered. I crashed through the window and landed in the middle of the fight. Damian turned. His eyes went wide. "You have a wolf?" "Yeah," I growled. "And she's pissed." I lunged. Claws. Teeth. Blood. For years I was weak. For years I was nothing. Not anymore. I fought beside Victor. Back to back. Him, the black Alpha. Me, the silver Luna. Damian screamed when I tore into his shoulder. "This isn't over!" "It is," Victor said. He pinned Damian down. "Leave. And never come back." Damian and his pack ran. Cowards. Silence fell. Only the sound of breathing. Of blood on the floor. Victor shifted back. Naked. Bleeding from a cut on his arm. He turned to me. "You're hurt." I shifted back too. Shaking. "I'm fine." He came to me immediately and pulled me into his arms. "You came down. I told you to stay." "I couldn't," I whispered. "Not while you were fighting for me." His forehead touched mine. "Luna..." The building alarms were going off. Security would be here soon. Victor grabbed his jacket and wrapped it around me. Then his own. "We need to go," he said. "Before the cops come." In the car, neither of us spoke. My hand found his. He squeezed it. "You were incredible tonight," he said. "My Luna." My heart stopped. "Did you just call me that?" I asked. Victor looked at me. Moonlight on his face. "Yes. Because it's true." We drove home in silence. But something had changed. The war was over. And something new was starting.
