Victor's penthouse. 3:47 AM.
The fight was over. But Victor was hurt.
Blood was dripping down his arm. A deep claw mark from Damian's beta.
"Let me see," I said. My voice shook.
Victor pulled away. "I'm fine, Luna."
"Don't call me that if you're going to lie," I snapped.
He stopped. Looked at me. "Fine. It hurts."
I dragged him to the bathroom. First aid kit. Hot water. Clean towels.
He sat on the counter while I cleaned the wound. His jaw was clenched.
"You didn't have to come down," he said quietly. "You could've died."
"And you could've died," I said. "So we're even."
I wrapped the bandage around his arm. My hands were steady now.
When I finished, Victor caught my wrist.
"Thank you," he said.
"For what? Bandaging you?"
"For fighting with me. For choosing me."
The air got heavy.
We were both still in his jacket. Nothing else. My hair was wet. His shirt was torn.
Victor's eyes dropped to my lips. Then back to my eyes.
"Luna," he whispered.
My heart was pounding. "Yeah?"
"Can I kiss you?"
No games. No contract. Just him asking.
I nodded.
He kissed me.
Soft at first. Like he was scared I'd break. Then harder. Like he couldn't hold back anymore.
My hands went to his chest. His went to my waist.
When we pulled back, we were both breathing hard.
Victor rested his forehead on mine. "I've wanted to do that for months."
"Why didn't you?" I whispered.
"Because you were broken. And I didn't want to be another man hurting you."
I touched his face. "You don't hurt me, Victor. You saved me."
He closed his eyes. "Stay tonight. Please."
So I did.
Not like that. We just slept. Me in his arms. Him holding me like if he let go, I'd disappear.
For the first time in years, I slept without nightmares.
The next morning, Victor got a call.
Pack meeting. 8 PM.
"They need to meet you," he said. "As my Luna."
I froze. "Victor, I'm not ready-"
"You are," he said. "And I'll be right beside you."
He kissed my forehead. "Ready to meet your pack, Luna?"
