The mountain house was different.
No city. No people. Just trees, snow, and silence.
Victor locked every door. Checked every window. Posted guards.
"You're safe here," he said. "No one knows about this place."
I sat by the fireplace. 11 weeks pregnant. Tired.
Victor came and sat next to me. Wrapped a blanket around both of us.
"I'm sorry," he said. "This isn't how I wanted it to be."
I shook my head. "I'm just glad we're together."
For 3 days, it was quiet.
We cooked. We talked. We walked in the snow.
Victor taught me how to shoot. "Just in case," he said.
"You think he'll find us?" I asked.
"I don't know," Victor said. "But I won't let anything happen to you. Or the baby."
At night, he read to me. To the baby.
Not business reports this time. Fairy tales.
On the 4th night, the power went out.
Victor was on his feet instantly. Gun in hand.
"Stay here," he said.
I grabbed his arm. "Don't leave me."
He kissed me hard. "Then come with me."
We checked the house. Nothing.
But outside, in the snow... footprints.
Leading away from the house.
Victor relaxed a little. "Probably a deer."
He was wrong.
The next morning, we got a letter.
No envelope. Just slipped under the door.
Inside, one photo.
Me. Sleeping. From last night. Through the window.
On the back, Damian's handwriting:
`I see you, Luna. I see the pup. Run all you want.`
Victor went completely still. Then he roared.
The windows shook.
"Pack the bags," he said. "We're leaving. Now."
"Where?" I asked.
"Somewhere he can't follow," Victor said. "Somewhere I can end this."
He pulled me into his arms.
"I'm not scared," I said. "Not with you."
Victor's eyes were dark. "Good. Because I'm done running."
That night, we left the mountain house.
But not to hide.
To hunt.
Victor had a plan. And it involved Damian.
"One more fight," Victor said in the car. "And then it's over. For good."
He took my hand and placed it on his chest.
"Trust me?"
I nodded. "I trust you."
Because he was right.
It was time to end this.

**Meanwhile, somewhere else...**
Damian watched the camera feed.
Victor and Luna driving away.
He smiled. "Come and get me, Alpha."
The trap was set.
