It felt as though it took forever for her to reach the top of the slope, but Amber got there eventually, and the moment she did she dropped to the ground so she could rest and take the weight off her ankle, which was throbbing so badly she could barely move. If there was one slight positive to the pain from her ankle it was that it took attention away from the pain in her head. That pain was reduced to a relatively mild headache, which at least enabled her to think a little more clearly as she tried to work out which way to go in order to get back to the activity centre. The overhead foliage wasn’t total, she could see patches of sky, but that didn’t help. Even if she had been able to see the sun, which she couldn’t, she would have had no idea which way to go to get out of the woods. Sh
