Nathan was bringing Steven Irish through the reception of Branton Police Station with Burke when he was brought up short by someone calling his name. Leaving Burke to carry on, he ducked his head into the office. “Was that your dulcet tones I heard, Frank?” Nathan asked of Sergeant Wells, who was once again the duty sergeant now that the search for Amber Reynolds was over. “Yes,” Sergeant Wells said. “Collins wants to see you, soon as you come in.” Nathan frowned as he looked at the clock on the wall, which showed it was approaching nine. “Collins is still here?” he asked in surprise.
