-Aiden’s POV-
Did she know how I felt when she blocked my words with her lips?
A current of electricity went down my spine when she dragged me closer. My mind went blank for a second and then I quickly took control. I bit her lips, trying to wake her up. I hoped she was aware of what she was doing.
But she didn’t back off.
She foozled kissing me while licking my lips with her soft tongue. I wanted to chuckle but held it back when I saw her eyes shut.
She was shy.
I sighed silently and combed her hair with my fingers. She then started to relax. I took the chance to stick my tongue into her mouth. She murmured something but I didn’t hear it.
I wouldn’t stop even though you cried for it. I thought.
Anyway, you started it.
I didn’t know why I was eager to taste her. She had a scent I wanted to be soaked in with. I sucked her lips and made her sob softly.
Her cheeks felt soft. My hands went down on her body and touched a place softer. She opened her eyes, trying to get rid of me. But I wouldn’t let her go.
I crushed on her, blocking her way out. Tears flew down her cheeks, she stared at me helplessly.
Was she frightened?
I hesitated for a moment and sighed. I was about to get up when she stopped struggling and passed out.
Her body was in extreme heat. It’s unusual.
……
“What happened to her? She looked fine yesterday!” I yelled at the pack doctor who was busy checking on Anastasia.
“She looks poisoned...” Doctor Jackson said after wiping the sweat on his forehead.
“Poison?” I darted to Farisa who stood at the corner, shivering. She didn't look right. She must know something.
More importantly, she lived with Anastasia.
“Who poisoned her? Tell me.” I couldn’t control my alpha aura and it apparently scared her. She even couldn’t speak but kept shaking her head.
Taking a deep breath in, I tried to control the scent and she swallowed before speaking. “She...She took pills.” Tears started to well up in Farisa’s eyes.
“What pills?” I grabbed her collar and for a moment I had a feeling that if she refused to tell me, I may kill her.
“The one produced by my father...He hasn’t named it. He just said it can make wolves look weak but actually won’t cause damage...” She sobbed and bit her lips when tears flowed down her cheeks.
“You gave her, right?” My hand tightened and I saw Farisa choked by me.
“Let her go, alpha!” Ajax ran to me and separated us.
“We will discuss it later! Now we have to get the pills first and let the doctor check on Anastasia!”
I had never seen Ajax in such a hurry. He looked helpless with his hair messed up by the wind. He rushed to the hospital as soon as he heard about the news.
“Right.” I turned around and ordered doctors to check on Anastasia. Then, I faced Ajax.
“Let’s have a talk...” Why didn’t Ajax wonder why Farisa gave Anastasia pills?
“But...alpha.” Doctor Jackson’s voice trembled. I turned to him and heard him say, “The patient woke up just now...”
I rushed into the ward and saw Anastasia sitting there. She looked at me but quickly ducked her head down.
“Anastasia, are you feeling better?” At first I thought it was her heat. But when she passed out, I knew something was wrong.
“...I’m good.” She answered with her head bowed.
“Can I speak to Farisa?” Her fingers trembled. Apparently, she took the pills intentionally.
But why?
“For the moment, you can’t.” She lifted up her head and grabbed my sleeves.
“Please...Alpha.” I told her to call me by my name, but she didn’t remember...
I sighed and got my sleeves back but the next moment she grabbed my hands. “Aiden, please. Farisa didn’t mean to hurt me...It is all my fault.” She shivered in fear but dared to beg me for her friend.
“She is doomed to be punished. You know that.”
“But it’s all my fault...She didn’t...” Anastasia bit her lips and tried to stop me but I stood up and got rid of her.
“She will come in once we are done with her.” I patted her shoulders and left without looking back. Her begging faded away when I walked away from her and slammed the door shut.
Ajax craned his head trying to see his sister, but I blocked his view and shut the door.
“Now. We can talk.”
Farisa shook her head but she was taken away by my warrior. Then, I turned to Ajax who pursed his lips, ready to be interrogated.
“Why did she take pills?”
“...She is your mate, right?” Ajax didn’t answer my question but created a new topic.
“Yeah. So what? Why didn’t you stop her taking pills? It almost killed her!” How could he let her take pills when he knew there was a chance Anastasia would be hurt? He was her brother!
Ajax sighed, “Then I can’t tell you why.”
“Tell me.” I clenched my fists and took in a deep breath in order not to fight with my Beta in the hospital.
“I can’t. At least I can’t tell you now. Maybe later.” He looked into my eyes and didn't cower back. Then I knew he meant it.
I took in a deep breath and had a wild guess. “Can you feel her wolf?”
I saw Ajax’s eyes wide, he stared at me and sighed. “I think she has no wolf…”
“She has. I know.” I could mate with her. So she had a wolf. It’s for sure. But I couldn’t see her wolf. Why? She must be hiding something from me.
