13. On his top

Chapter 13

-Anastasia’s POV-

 Ajax didn’t give me a s**t but drove away quickly. I stood there frozen, trying to figure out a way to avoid the training.

Now I was standing in the backyard with a powerful muscular alpha crossing his arms against his chest.

“I…I just left the hospital,” I stuttered with my eyes full of fear. Alpha Aiden once taught me  a lesson after I beat up Stacy. He was too powerful to fight.

I was dead.

I was definitely dead.

I would be beaten up and taught how to show respect to the Alpha. I was pretty sure Alpha Aiden would give me a lesson after I answered back at him.

“Show me what you have learned before.” He didn’t even give me a chance to rest and motioned me to fight with him. The backyard was surrounded by woods. Nobody could peek at us from such thick woods.

“Let’s see how you were trained.” In the middle of the green thick bushes, Alpha Aiden tilted his head and smiled. But for me the smile was a bit scary.

Taking a deep breath in, I lunged at him at my full speed but he quickly ducked my move before I could react to it and swept me down with his legs. My head spun when I fell down, but I clenched my teeth and jumped to my feet.

He raised his eyebrows, a bit surprised that I would jump up so fast. But he didn’t show mercy on me and punched me in the belly.

I bet he didn’t beat me with his full strength. I felt my stomach churning a bit, but it was okay.

I had to show you some good, Alpha.

My hands were balled into fists when I dashed to him. He quickly avoided my attack but he didn’t expect I would kick him down with my legs.

“Good,” he mumbled when lying on the ground and then jumped at me like a flash.

We ended up wrestling with each other on the ground, dirt all over our bodies. I used all the  skills I could use before I went desperate and started to bite him or kick him in his crotch. He chuckled and ducked them but he was dragged into this childish game.

We rolled over on the dirty ground where the dust was flying and I could barely see his face clearly. But I was sure he must be smiling.

“Teenage girl.” Amy sniffed, “Always unleash your imagination on handsome men.”

“Stop nagging!”

I was mind quarreling with Amy again when I suddenly felt I lost balance of my body. 

“Hey, you—” Alpha Aiden shouted in surprise.

His words were blocked by me.

Cause I slipped and landed on him when I stepped on a small rock. 

I closed my eyes out of fear. No, I didn’t want to die. But I couldn’t prevent myself from falling onto a hard chest.

Oh my God. Why was I on top of him again?

-Aiden’s POV-

I gazed at the man I trusted, though he had so many secrets that he was unwilling to reveal to me.

Ajax saved me, so I appointed him as my Beta regardless of his identity as a rogue. 

“I think she has no wolf….” Ajax was serious with his jaw clenched. I guessed he was afraid that I would banish her because she had no wolf.

“She has. I know.” Was he unaware of his sister’s wolf? I had to know what the truth was. It was so strange that even her brother didn’t know her secret.

Why was she keeping her secret away from everyone? I wanted to know more about her.

Not only because I had a thing for her, but also because I must find out the truth to decide whether to accept her as my mate, the Luna of the pack of Night Howlers. Yes, I did have a thing for her but that’s it. No more feelings.

That was the one thing I didn’t tell Ajax. It was that I may reject her if she was too weak. I couldn’t choose my mate based on my own liking. Faced with the Elders and enemies such as Alpha Don, I had to make a decision for the whole pack.

Alpha Don had a feud with my family. He would attack my pack once he found my weakness. If I chose her as my mate regardless of her power, she would be the target, too. Then I could protect nobody including my own mate.

My mate and my pack members would all be stuck in trouble.

I couldn’t be so selfish….

But I didn’t want to abandon her. I felt I started to like her already. Was that the power of the bond?

I wanted to protect her. Not for the deal I made with Ajax, but for myself. 

Anastasia, I hoped you could be stronger.

We wrestled with each other with dirt all over us. I gave up trying to make myself look more like an Alpha instead of a mate which she didn’t know. It was fun to train with her.

We were coated with mud and dirt all over our bodies. But I didn’t care about it. To train with her made me laugh happily.

“Man, you look more like a nut.” Derrick yawned and stretched his body in my mind like a dog who was enjoying the sunshine.

“Ssh.” I hushed him as I was busy wrestling with Anastasia. God, it was not that easy to win her.

“Wait!” She tripped over a small rock but at that time we both didn’t have the chance to pay attention to the rock but just stared at each other and finally, she landed on top of me.

Was she trying to take revenge on me because I crushed myself on her when she kissed me?

Her hazel eyes reflected me. She had beautiful, clear eyes. 

Her softness pressed against my chest while her pink lips parted as if she was inviting me….

And I accepted the invitation.
