Chapter 5

677 Words
Shortly after Alexander agreed to meet Olivia, I left his office to go and set things in place for Olivia and Alexander's date. On my way I got to an accident scene. I stepped out and saw a familiar face being placed on a stretcher. It was the face on Jenny's laptop. It was Olivia Moore. What happened? I quickly identified her and arranged for her to be taken to a proper hospital. She had been in a ghastly vehicle accident. I called Alexander to meet me at the hospital after he left the office. Olivia's point of view I woke up in a hospital bed, feeling groggy and confused. I tried to move, but I felt a sharp pain in my chest and my head. I looked around and saw tubes and wires attached to my body. I saw a monitor that showed my vital signs. I saw a nurse who was checking on me. I tried to speak, but I felt a dryness in my throat and a weakness in my voice. "Where am I? What happened?" I asked. The nurse smiled at me and said, "You're in the hospital, honey. You were in a car accident. You're lucky to be alive." She said. I felt a surge of fear and panic. I remembered the accident, the cab, the other car. I remembered the letter, the firing, the plot. I asked the nurse urgently: "Who brought me here? Who hit me? Who did this to me?" The nurse looked at me sympathetically and said. "I don't know, honey. The police are investigating the case. They said it was a hit-and-run. They said they have some leads, but they haven't found the culprit yet." She said. I felt a chill run down her spine. I knew it was not a hit-and-run. I knew it was a murder attempt. I knew it was part of a bigger plot. I knew I was in danger. I asked the nurse desperately. "Is there anyone here for me? Anyone who knows me? Anyone who can help me?" I asked. The nurse nodded and said. "Yes, honey. There is someone here for you. Someone who saved your life. Someone who cares about you." She said. I felt a glimmer of hope and relief. I wondered who it was. I wondered if it was Williams Anderson, my childhood friend. I wondered if he had followed me to the hospital and stayed by my side. She asked the nurse eagerly. "Who is it? Where is he?" I asked. The nurse pointed at the door and said. "He's right there, honey. He's been waiting for you to wake up. He's been worried sick about you." She said. I turned my head and saw him standing at the door. He smiled at me warmly and walked towards my bed. He looked at me with concern and kindness in his eyes. He spoke to me with confidence and authority in his voice. "Hello, Olivia. It's good to see you awake." He said. He held my hand gently. He spoke to me softly. "How are you feeling?" He asked. . He introduced himself as Alexander Reynolds, the CEO and owner of Reynold Industries. He explained that Henry had witnessed the accident, recognized me and followed the ambulance to the hospital. He said he had paid for all my medical expenses and arranged for my security and protection. He said Henry had contacted my mother and assured her that I was safe and well. I was confused. How did he know me? The billionaire CEO, Alexander Reynolds, concerned about me? I couldn't believe it. Just then Henry walked in. "It's Russo Alex," he said. "And they've planned another attack. She's not safe." He added. Before I could say anything, something unexpected happened. A loud bang echoed through the hospital, followed by screams and alarms. We heard gunshots outside, followed by shouts and orders. We realized that we were under attack, that Russo's men had found me again. We realized that we were in danger. And we were right.
