Erica's POV

Dante's hand tightened on my wrist, his nails pressing into my skin. “What was going on between you and Jaxon?” he asked again, his voice a deep growl that shook me. “Why were you two in the girls' bathroom together when I saw you?”
I swallowed hard and looked him in the eyes. “I already told you.” I said, keeping my voice steady even though I felt scared inside. “Jaxon wanted me to get you to sign the deal with his company. That’s it.”
Dante's nostrils flared, and his eyes turned a darker brown, nearly black. “We both know you're lying, Jane.” His voice was sharp, each word filled with disbelief and anger. He grabbed my arm, pulling me closer, his breath warm against my ear. “You couldn't lie so well if you weren't hiding something.”
