Episode 5 Set in Stone Mia

Logan kept his eyes on Mia and she did the same, after several minutes Logan walked over to speak to her "Hi Mia it’s good to see you although I wish it were under different circumstances, wow I can't believe how much you've grown" Logan said to Mia. "Its good to see you too and you look different, I guess this is how CEO's look, no tank tops and sweats I see" they laughed at the inside joke. For a while they forgot there was anybody else there, it was like everyone had disappeared and it was just them. "Mhm" Alex cleared her throat to remind them she was standing right there with them and with that Mia introduce her "Oh sorry this is my friend Alex, I don't know if you remember her I went to boarding school with her and Alex this is Logan Rexford" Mia said introducing Alex and Logan. "Yeah hi, I remember you you're Christian's cousin" Logan said addressing Alex, “I was very sorry to hear about Lex he was a great man and touched a lot of people's lives, would've come sooner but I was in Japan handling some business, Macy sends her apologies the twins are keeping her very busy" Logan said to Mia. Logan was always close to Mia's dad, his own dad wasn’t around much so Lex was the father figure and mentor he needed to set him straight and he learned a lot from him. “Thank you, your parents are inside if you want to speak to them I'm just not sure were in the house though" Mia replied with that Logan excused himself.

"Wow Logan is hotter than I remember" Alex said to Mia and she had a knowing look on her face, "Come down girl you're drooling" Mia said to Alex, Mia couldn't deny that Alex was right Logan was much hotter than she remembered but that was a topic for another day right now she had a funeral to get through and the reading of the will after the funeral. In the morning Christian arrived before they left for the church, Mia and Christian had become good friends since he moved to Europe and she was glad for the support, Christian got Mia in ways many people didn't and she appreciated that. In the Church Mia sat with her family in the front row, really nice things were said about her dad and Mia delivered the eulogy she always had a way with words and her dad would've been proud. They went to the cemetery for the burial and Christian never left Mia's side, Mia did not even realise Logan was paying attention to her and Christian she was just always comfortable in his arms and he always knew how to make her feel better. Unlike most people Alex wasn't apprehensive about her best friend being friends with her cousin, her very hot cousin at that she would probably even be ok with them dating he was good for her but she and Christian both knew Mia was Logan's girl even if they both denied it though they would never say it out loud.

Everyone went back to the house after the funeral, people were talking and sharing memories of Lex and there were a lot of memories to share and most of them very happy memories. Mia always had a story to tell about her dad mostly from her teen years, she missed him already more than she ever thought was possible. People started to leave and the house felt empty again but Mia had Christian and Alex to keep her distracted, Logan had disappeared several hours ago and Mia wondered were he'd disappeared to. There was one last thing that needed to be done before they resumed with their lives, the reading of the will. Grace had decided the will would be read on the day of the funeral so they could start planning ahead before the price share of the company fell, they needed to take action soon to keep things steady she lived a very expensive life after all and Mia did need to get back to school to complete her postgraduate degree.

At the reading of the will there were a few family members and Logan's dad Hunter and of course Mia and Grace, the will was fairly detailed. Lex left his wife a few vacation houses all over the world, some shares he had invested in multiple ventures and some money offshore. Mia had a trust fund but it was always under her mother's control until she turns 25, her dad left her an apartment in New York and the one she lives in in London and the one they have been waiting for the shares to Lexington Software with a few clauses that come with it. Mia can only receive her shares if or when she is married or after she turns 30, her trust fund will still be under her mother's control until she turns 25 but that money could also be relocated if need be. Mia was initially broke so to speak, her dad did leave her a personal letter explaining why he did what he did in hopes that Mia would understand his reasons for doing this.

After the reading of the will Mia felt like someone just pulled the rug right from under her, London wasn't exactly a cheap city to live in after all, she might own the apartment she lives in but utilities aren't exactly cheap and her job might be great but it doesn't pay nearly enough to maintain her. Alex had went out with Christian to get some air and give them space to read the will, they came back later on with Logan and found Mia sobbing while reading her father's letter sitting on the garden bench. They comforted her but she wouldn't tell them what the letter said, she wasn't ready to share the contents of the letter with anyone. Grace felt it was time for them to sit down and discuss the solution to her problems, Mia had no intention of running the family business but she had been taking business classes for the past couple of years in case she ever found herself in the type of situation she is in now and to her surprise she actually enjoyed them and wanted to be part of the business while focusing on writing her book but with all these obstacles she didn’t believe it would be possible. Mia followed her mother to the study to discuss her options, she was surprised to find Logan in the study "Hi my mom and I need to use the study, would you mind waiting outside for a bit" Mia said to Logan. "Actually honey Logan is part of the meeting and the solution to your problems" Grace said to Mia. Mia was taken aback by this statement but she was a smart girl and started putting 2 and 2 together, Mia looked at Logan and then her mother and she knew what she was thinking was exactly what was about to happen.
