Sean’s POV
I’d been trapped in darkness for what felt like forever.
At first, when Larry and I entered the dream world to find Gemma, we were together. I remember the field, the waterfall, the house that looked too perfect to be real. Then Gemma disappeared… and so did Larry.
After that, everything changed.
Darkness swallowed me whole.
No light.
No sound.
No magic.
Nothing.
I couldn’t even shift.
For the first time in my life, I truly understood what it meant to be powerless.
I kept walking because standing still felt worse. Every step echoed around me like I was trapped underground. I couldn’t tell if hours or days had passed. My throat was dry, my body weak, and panic slowly started crawling into my chest.
“Larry!” I shouted.
Nothing answered me.
“Gemma!”
Still nothing.
