Instead, it turned into another nightmare created by Lucien.
One minute, John’s body had been floating down the river surrounded by flames and flowers, finally being laid to rest beside the people he loved. The next minute, black smoke swallowed everything whole, and Lucien appeared like the devil himself had crawled out from the pits of hell.
