Flashback
Everything changed the day Gemma ran away.
At first, I thought I had everything under control. I thought I could find her before anyone else did and finally take the power that should have belonged to me from the start.
But then Khloe disappeared too.
That was when I realised something was wrong.
She had been playing me the entire time.
For weeks, I searched for her. I left the pack behind, left the house, left everything. I told myself it was because I needed her help with Gemma, but deep down, I knew the truth.
I wanted my mate back.
Eventually, I found her standing near the border of the old Shadow Ridge territory beside a stranger dressed in black.
The air around them felt wrong.
Dark.
Dangerous.
The second Khloe saw me, her eyes widened in shock.
