I secretly heaved a deep sigh. The tension at our table was too much. I don't know if Mia felt it but Andy definitely felt the tension. I wondered how he and I would be able to eat. Uncle Lux was staring at me intently, as if he wanted to pull me up and leave that place.
The tension broke when the waiter arrived and served the food we ordered. But when the waiter left, the tension returned. We were all silent and no one wanted to take the first bite. Andy couldn't take it anymore, so he broke the silence and scooped some food and put it on my plate.
"Try this garlic shrimp, Jianci. This is a simple dish but it's very delicious," Andy offered with a smile.
Smiling, I poked the shrimp with a fork to eat it but Uncle Lux suddenly snatched it from me.
