4 Deal with the Devil Douglas strode down the hallway to his suite. He was alone, but his gait still had that swagger, the one he used when he had an audience. Because Douglas did have an audience, the cameras. In every public place, down every hall, out on the streets, and all through his company, cameras spied on everyone. And since Douglas was CEO of The Caravan, his holovid ended up front and center on a lot of digi-tabloids. He couldn’t let down his guard. Douglas reached the door to his suite. The sensor above the doorframe scanned his brainwave pattern, the highest level of security check, and beeped. The door opened, and he stepped inside. The door closed, and his rigid body slumped.
