I sat in the back seat of the car, hands clasped, fingers cold. My gown’s hem was wrinkled from my grip. Alpha Ross had picked this dress for me. Not a single crease. The moon-patterned embroidery shimmered under the lights. I remembered how he took me to the fitting room, adjusted the waistline three times. The AC was a little too cold.
