Amara
He’s still asleep.
I sat next to him then laid my head on his buff chest. “Everything’s fine my Alpha.”
I caressed his lively hair, and found myself engulfed by his breathtaking face—he’s so perfect.
He finally wakes up.
“I’m glad you’re finally awake, Alpha Gonzalo.” He remained silent for a while—something was different.
The spark in his eyes that I saw in the ice cave was gone. The wavering affection I felt for him slowly shifted into doubt and uncertainty—it’s distrust.
“Are you okay, Alpha Gonzalo?”
Then.
A blunt force that struck me unprepared—he pushed me so hard I fell to the ceramic floor.
“Stay away from me!” He looks so pissed.
Despite his repulsion at my presence, I told him, “Alpha Gonzalo, it is I… I’m Amara. Don’t you remember? You called me your Luna.” I found myself kneeling in front of him—I was in between his legs as he was sitting on the side of the bed. I locked eyes with him and felt his face with my hands—I gently pressed his cheeks. I’ve decided to exchange my sincerity for uncertainty, “I know what happened to you is hard to take in, but I’m here. I promise I’ll stay by your side.”
His once charming face looked more enraged. He held both of my arms with his strong grip, then moved them away from his face. He was so angry with tears accumulating in his eyes, “Shut up, you mere human! Who are you to say that you know what happened!? You know nothing! You know nothing about what happened, you puny mortal!”
Tears formed in my eyes too, “You’re hurting me, Alpha Gonzalo! Please let go!” I said to him as he was still grabbing my arms so tightly. Next thing I knew, I was already bawling my eyes.
Then.
A hard force struck me once again, it was his hand—he slapped me. I found myself glued to the ground. I never knew Gonzalo was capable of such violence. In a lowered voice, I voiced my disappointment, “but we imprinted, don’t you remember?” Helplessly, I asked, “What about the kiss? The kiss under the moonlight? It was me who freed you. Why do I get this in return? I thought I was your Luna?”
Cold stare—calm before the storm.
“I can’t believe I imprinted on a mere human mortal.” He said in a chilling tone—disappointed. He’s disgusted and extremely frustrated. His suppressed grief is exploding right before my eyes. He placed his hands on his head, grasped his hair, bowed in disbelief and began to weep. “I deserve to die! I couldn’t even protect my tribe. I couldn’t even protect my Luna. I failed my own people!”
I’m still in pain, but I still recognize that he’s in much greater suffering. I stayed in my place thinking of my next move.
