Amara
I stayed in the mansion thinking of what Constantine said. Perhaps waiting for Gonzalo would be better.
I ate a bunch of fruit from the fridge—I haven’t eaten anything since the encounter in Greenland.
Noon came. I explored the room and found a closet full of pretty clothes I hadn’t seen before. The pretty blue silk dress caught my attention. I tried it and it perfectly fits.
After I grew tired of trying to feel pretty, I found myself lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling of the room, lights off—I’m trying to assess everything I’ve been through so far since I met Gonzalo.
I took slow deep breaths to calm myself. Next thing I knew, I was crying. My body began to tremble; my mind taken over by unexplained thoughts. I wept—helplessly, I was torn.
I woke up—night came. I stretched my joints and found myself possessed by the beauty of the crescent moon. Its light touches my skin.
A burning feeling once again flared inside my chest.
Then.
A howl coming from the forest grabbed my attention.
Gonzalo!
I quickly ran outside to find him. My chest’s pounding like it’s going to break. The unknown awaits me.
I went in. I ran past the giant pine trees and came across a harmony of bugs and birds. After running for a while, I heard scratches from near me—then a growling sound.
It must be him—AH!
My feet came across a thick vine, I fell onto a small cliff.
I squealed as I rolled over the moist dirty ground. Tiny thorns even wrapped my dress. I was expecting to see the man that rejected me, and to my surprise, I was wrong.
I’m stuck in a den of predators.
There are half a dozen of them—disturbed wild animals with a black coating, medium-sized but bulky build, their eyes are orange and they glow. Black panthers are looking at their new feast.
“Alpha Gonzalo! Constantine! Help me! Please!” I’m crawling backwards, terrified of what awaits me.
I closed my eyes. My heart skipped a beat as the panthers leaped towards my direction.
So, this is my end.
Loud cried roared within the forest. Not from me, but from the panthers. I’m frozen glued to the ground, my soul has left my body.
Slowly, I opened my sealed eyes.
The blurry vision turned clear—Constantine and Gonzalo in his beast form came.
They both heard me.
