DAVIS’ POV
I knew that keeping quiet at that moment could only result in Luke lingering with his persistence. I decided to speak to him even though I didn’t like the tone of his voice.
“Davis! Didn’t you hear me?! Where the hell is Diana?! I have been trying to call her since morning! Has she forgotten that we have something very serious to handle?!” His voice was getting louder and more annoying, but I didn’t think he was ever going to stop until I told him something.
“She had an emergency, Luke. That’s why she hasn’t been taking your calls.”
“What stupid emergency?! Is that the reason why she abandoned the project we are working on?!”
