ARIEL’S POV Davis came back the previous night looking very exhausted and with a lot going through his mind. He didn’t even touch the food I left for him on the dining table. Will got very tired of waiting for him, and he had to go to sleep after about an hour, feeling so sad that he didn’t get to be read his new bedtime story. I offered to read the story to him, but it appeared that he preferred Davis’ voice to mine, and I didn’t even know if that was supposed to be a good thing or not.
