Malcolm heard the knock at the door. He went to it expectantly, hoping he could sweep Gigiana off her feet. He opened the door and saw no one. He looked from side to side, still expecting to see someone. Anyone.
"Who's there?"
After a few minutes, he went back into the house. He hasn't seen kids out on the streets here before, else he'd have concluded it was just erring kids. He turned around to find Larry smirking right into his face. He growled and struck out with his paw. Larry dodged.
"Do you think I'm here by myself, pup? You all are so dumb."
Just then, the vampires began to materialize from where they had been hiding till it felt like the room could contain no more.
