"What are you doing?"
Gigiana almost fell from the bed. She didn't remember how close she was standing on the edge of it. But she flayed her hands backwards as if flapping wings and fell back onto the bed. She tried to maintain composure. This situation didn't have to be awkward, with her looking like she'd been stealing stuff.
"Uh...nothing really. I just wanted to check out the collection on your top shelf."
Peter narrowed his eyes and nodded his head as if he was considering what she had just said.
"You didn't just know to get up there, did you?"
She looked up at the shelf again, looking for a quality of the books that sat on it that she could tender as a reasonable excuse.
"Uh...I think I like their covers and binding; it's really nothing serious."
Peter chuckled
