Chapter Eighteen After the phone call, she had many questions churning in her head. Whom was she working for? What mission would take her away for three weeks? Would there be enough income to allow her to quit her job? If not, she wasn’t sure how she’d be able to manage having to frequently go away while remaining employed. Fortunately, these questions that had consumed her thoughts on the drive back to the skeezy motel were no match for the exhaustion, and she was asleep within minutes of lying down. She slept for seven hours, waking after ten in the morning. On her way out of town, she stopped at a dumpster behind a gas station and threw away the wrapper from her earlier sandwich.
