Chapter Twenty-Six
Kaya Bultine stood and walked to the trash can, dropping her wrapper inside. She was about to start her shift on the surgical unit in the city hospital.
Kaya had only worked in the hospital a couple of months and found it challenging to fit in. She was just out of training and by far the youngest of all the nurses in the unit.
Her timid nature and short stature didn’t help. The young nurse was frequently overlooked and ignored. However, what little feedback she’d gotten about her work had all been positive.
She approached the nurse’s station, and the senior nurse in charge saw her and said, “Good, you’re here. I need to take care of something, watch the desk.”
