Chapter Sixty
The following morning the women choose to do room service instead of going to the buffet. Tasha remained in bed. The overexertion of the previous day had caught up with her.
She’d been slowly decreasing the amount of pain medication she’d been using but took a full dose because of all the upcoming travel.
Tasha was pleased that for the second day in a row, there was almost no fluid in the reservoir of the surgical drain.
Julie came to her bedside and, following Tasha’s directions, removed the tape holding the tubing of the drain in place. Next, she cut the small suture holding the drain tube to the skin.
“You ready?”
Taking a deep breath, Tasha nodded.
With a firm continuous pull, Julie removed the eighteen-inch-long tube from Tasha’s abdomen.
There was a slight gasp
