Lee jerked up from his chair so hard that it caused the legs to rub harshly on the polished floor. In one stride he stepped toward Ella and wrapped his thumb and forefinger softly around her chin.
“Ella, are you sure about this?” His dark eyes met her light ones as he questioned her. I did not expect him to sound shaky and nervous.
A small smile graced her lips but it did not reach her eyes. Her golden locks swayed as she shook her head, silently answering him. She reached up her fingers to clasp his own. She brought his large fingers up to her full lips and loudly kissed them before lowering his hand, with their fingers intertwined.
They shared a few seconds staring at each other before Ella broke their gaze.
