“I give! I give up!” I shouted as I craned my neck away from Ella and tried to open my eyes. In the background, I could hear Ella singing her victory. I wiped the water from my eyes as I giggled at her antics. I swam away from her and floated on my back. I could see the stars shine brightly above me. I had never seen so many stars before. When I was in the city, not a star could be seen but out here in the country, it was as if all the stars I had missed were there. I heard a little splash beside me. From my peripheral, I could see Ella floating near me on her back as well.
