Anton sighed, his expression turning even more serious. “We don’t know who sent it, Vera, or what’s inside for that matter. For all we know, it could be something dangerous. We made a mistake bringing it in here. It’s better to open it outside where we can handle any surprises.” Embarrassment washed over me. Of course, he was right. How could I have been so reckless?
