VERA'S POV
I stayed back in Draven's office for a couple of hours longer. I wasn't really doing much, just reading an old classic book I found on his shelf while I watched him work and bark orders at people on the phone. It was far into the afternoon when I left, deciding to stretch my legs a little. I was also in need of clearing my head.
Conversations with him always had a way of lingering, like an itch I couldn’t quite scratch. A walk in the woods seemed like the perfect solution. The cool air brushed against my skin as I stepped into the forest.
