Falling for the Target

Zendaya...

I woke up with the help of my alarm at exact 7:30am and I still felt really dizzy and tired. I picked up my phone to check if Benjamin had said anything again and of course he did.

"Hey Miss D" he texted

"Sorry, i just woke up. Good morning Mr. Benjamin" Marley texted back

"How are you?" he asked

"I guess I'm okay. Do you work?"

"Yeah I do at a tech company, what's up?" he asked

"Just that I need a job so I was wondering if you could help with that? " Marley asked him.

"Do you know Gestric Tech Company? " he asked.

"Yeah, I should come?" Marley asked.

"Yeah but please be early. Boss is very keen on that" he said

Marley quickly dropped her phone and went into the bathroom to have her bath and brush as well. When she was done, she quickly dressed up and went down to have a little coffee and headed out.

She got into a cab and in less than 30 minutes, she was at Gestric Tech Company.

"Ugh, I feel really lazy today" Marley said to herself.

"Lazy type huh?" a voice said from behind laughing

"The job?" She asked

"Oh uh, why exactly do you need a job. Aren't you visiting?" he asked

"I'll be staying for a long time so I really can't be idle"

"Fine, follow me then" he said gesturing for me to follow him

He took me to his Boss's office and boy was I shocked. His Boss was a fine man. He was working but managed to stop when he saw us.

"Good morning sir" Marley quickly greeted

His boss just stared at them like she didn't say anything. He gave this blank expression that could really pin a person's soul down

"Actually I brought this lady because she desired to work here and I remember when you pointed out to me that there's a vacant seat for the company's secretary" Benjamin said.

"Oh oh yes, I remember saying that. How skilled is she?" he asked

"Well, I don't really.." Ben tried to talk but Marley cut in sharply

"I'm very skilled sir, obviously Ben doesn't know me that much" Marley said

"Skilled huh?" His boss asked with a really annoying stern face.

"Yes, yes I am" Marley replied.

"Okay then, you got the job" His boss said.

"Are you serious? Thank you so much Sir" Marley gratefully said.

"I'm Mr Johnny by the way, people call me John too" he said to Marley

"Oh, where are my manners? Sorry I'm Marley. People well... call me.... Ley.. for short" I said and ended up laughing ALONE.

Then both of the males started laughing but not at the ridiculous joke I tried to crack but at me.

"You're really ridiculous Miss Ley" Mr. Johnny said as both of them laughed again but this time longer.

"Thanks" Marley said and left the office.

"Dawn... Dawn... Dawn..." Marley called out. She could hear him but she obviously choosed to ignore.

"What?!" she said

"Where are you going?" he asked her

"You were really funny Benjamin, way to go laughing at me with your boss"

"It was funny okay? Relax" he said

"Where am I staying?" Marley asked him

"My office but you'll have your table. That's where all the tech secretary's stay"

"Where's the office?" she asked.

"Right... over there" he said pointing a finger at a door.

She walked down to the door and opened it to get in as Benjamin followed her behind.

"Your office is exquisite" she said.

"I know, it's one of the perks of working here" he said

"Why do all the secretaries work here?" she asked

"I don't know"

"Are they always females?" she asked

"Yeah"

"Ouuuuu, so I guess you've dated all?" she asked

"Well, I don't even talk to any of them till they leave or get fired"

"So why are you talking to me" she asked

"I'm not the mingly type if you must know but I'm talking to you because I find a little bit of interest in getting to know you" he said matter of factly

"Hmmm, acting tough" she said

"A hint for you, if I get bored I'll stop" he said.

"I think I'm gonna get bored first, you're annoying" she said to him

While they were talking, some girl barged into the office with some documents and dropped it on my working table.

"You must be the new employee?" she asked.

"Marley actually, that's the name" Marley said.

"I didn't ask" she said with a bit of sass this time and then turned to talk to Benjamin.

"Hey Ben" She said

"Hey" he replied.

"What's the newbie doing here?" She asked Benjamin

"Secretaries stay here, remember?"

"This one shouldn't" she said giving this disgusting face and looked at Marley.

"Excuse you?!" Marley interrupted

"What?" She asked and turned to me

"What's the sass about?"

"What's your business with whatever attitude I put up? " she asked.

"It's my business because you're taking it out on only me" Marley told her.

"Look, if you wanna last her just shut up, it'll do you more good than harm" she told Marley back and poked her nose.

Marley wanted to retaliate but Benjamin noticed and decided to separate them.

"Calm down ladies" he said

"No no no, I want to talk. What's your name?" Marley asked

"Zendaya" she smirked

"You need to calm down Zendaya. Like you said, I'm a newbie and I really don't remember causing nuisance previously" Marley said softly

"Oh please, don't act all cutie. Just start working on those documents if you plan to leave here early" she told Marley and walked out

Marley turned to look at Benjamin and he couldn't even mutter a word to her.

"What was that?" Marley asked

"Zendaya" Ben replied.

"Oh really?! So things are like that over here? And I thought you said you're not the mingly type?" Said Marley

"Yes, with the secretaries but she's the only female I talk to closely" Ben replied

"Are you guys dating?" she asked

"No, just close" he said

"Well it's good that you're close... So please talk to "Zendaya". No! Don't talk to her, give her a warning. I have sense and I have sass okay? Tell her that" Marley sashayed out and went to start working.

"Look...." Ben tried to talk

"I don't want to hear about Zendaya again, keep your opinions to yourself." I snapped at him

She spent up to 6 hours working on the documents that was given to her and was done. Marley decided to drop the documents on her Boss's table since he wasn't around. While returning back to her office, she met Zendaya and Williams talking and obviously Zendaya spoke.

"Done with work Missy?" she said

Marley snubbed and kept on walking like no one spoke but Zendaya dragged her back.

"Look Zendaya or whatever your filthy name you have. I'm new around here doesn't mean I'm stupid. Not all newbies are okay. If you're used to bossing people around... Girllll... Things just got different because I'm not getting bossed by some "soon to be adult"... "Marley bluffed and left.

" She....she.....she..... she has the nerves Ben "Zendaya stammered

" Relax, she was just saying her mind"Ben said

"Are you by anyway supporting that b***h?" she fumed

"Well, I'm not the one who picked a fight okay, talk later" Ben said and kept his hands on surrender.

"Woah, Marley. Where was that from?" Ben asked

"I wasn't cracking a joke when I said that I'm not stupid. I said my mind and none of that ranting would have happened if she didn't drag me. She picked up a fight and I showed her that I'm not to be messed with" said Marley...

"Okay okay... I'll be leaving... See you tommorrow"

"Tommorrow is Saturday"

"Oh, bye then Marley."he said and left.

Marley left the office 30 minutes after Benjamin to her apartment and slept off immediately
