( Eleanor's POV)
The doctor’s words hung in the air.
She was taken, just like that.
The word cracked something open in my chest. My world tilted.
Tiffany was the only friend I had. The only person who’d been with me through thick and thin. Now wiped clean of her memory. And gone, just like that.
I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think.
Anger and panic collided until my hands started shaking.
That had barely settled when a rough crash sounded.
A body colliding with the wall.
I flung my eyes up almost immediately.
Lucian had the young security man by the collar. He shoved him hard against the wall.
The doctor and the nurse by the side shrank back. The nurse brought a hand up to her mouth, like she was trying to stop a scream from coming out.
