(Eleanor's POV) I looked back at our car. Tiffany was still inside. Probably terrified by everything that was unfolding. I breathed in, deep and heavy, because I knew at this point that there was nothing else I could do. If this was how it ended, then at least I’d tried. Just then — The loud roar of an engine burst through the air. It wasn’t from our car. It was coming from farther behind us. All of us turned at the same time. Headlights cut through the dust — fast and angry. A black SUV tore into the lot like it owned the place. It wasn’t even slowing down. It drove straight toward the men.
