I paced the room, my heart pounding as worry gnawed at me. Avery was gone. No one had seen her since last night. Everyone in the pack was searching for her, but there was still no sign of her.
Anna had disappeared too, which only made things worse. Something didn’t feel right. I could sense it deep in my bones, a sharp unease that wouldn’t leave me alone.
“Any updates?” I asked one of the warriors as he returned from a patrol.
He shook his head. “Nothing, Kaden.”
I clenched my fists. I felt so frustrated. Avery was out there somewhere, and I couldn’t do anything. My wolf growled. He was restless and furious.
Just as I was about to head out myself, my phone buzzed. The sound startled me, and I snatched it off the table. It was an unknown number.
