I sat on the edge of my bed, staring at my phone. My heart was racing, and my palms were damp with sweat. Every minute felt like an eternity. Liam’s behavior tonight had made it clear—he was starting to suspect me. The way his eyes lingered on me, the way he questioned where I had been, it all screamed of suspicion.
