Damian looked as though every answer had just slipped through his fingers.
His phone remained in his hand.
Whatever he'd read had stolen the warmth from his face.
"You're scaring me," I admitted.
He looked up, forcing a smile that fooled absolutely nobody.
"I need you to trust me for a little longer."
I folded my arms.
"You realize that's the least comforting sentence anyone has ever said."
