The place was crowded. There were no empty tables, so Keenan made his way to the bar. The only seat available was between a nice-looking young man and an older gentleman engaged in conversation with the man next to him. Keenan asked if the seat was taken. The younger guy smiled and told him no. Keenan sat down and ordered a beer. The young man introduced himself. Eric Mills was a grad student at the university, studying political science. Keenan liked him at once and felt comfortable talking with him. He found Eric attractive physically and personally.
